In preparation for my upcoming trip to Cozumel (I'll be arriving next Wednesday), I've been keeping an eye on Dollar-Peso exchange rates. About a year ago, the rate was about 12.8 Pesos to the Dollar (U.S.). Over the past month or two, the dollar has gotten much stronger, and over the last two weeks, it is spiking, hitting almost 13.85 Pesos to the Dollar this morning. Looks like good news for my vacation, as I can buy a lot more Pesos now. But what is happening? Is Mexican inflation also spiking? It can't all be just a stronger U.S. Dollar. Anybody know?
