Hi, new Open Water diver here.

I would like to ask for people's experience with certain scuba brands. You see my friend and I want to buy from a store rather than online, and we have a few options. However it's been a bit difficult finding a lot of information.

I don't wish to offend anyone, but I have heard that Oceanic BCDs aren't as durable as most, and we were looking at either the Cruz or the Ocean pro-QLR as a part of a couple of inexpensive dive packages. We have had recommended the SEAC 2000 BCD, but it is a fair bit more expensive. We have also looked at the Aeris Ex1000. Out of these, which one would you suggest for beginners who are looking for ruggedness and durability?

Is there much difference between these companies for occys, regs and consoles? Any recommendations?

Many thanks!
