Am planning on going CCR this year and wanted to get a view on the different comps.

I see alot of VR3's but understand the HS has the true RGBM - The third alternative seems to be the Cochran which appears popular in north america.

What to people recommend and why - VR3, HS Explorer, Cochran ?

(again i have noted that this question has been asked but models and firmware have been upgraded since those discussions)

Most of the CCR RB divers I dive with or have come across around here dive VR3s. I cannot speak on any other computer for CCR, but it seems to have everything I need for diving CCR trimix. Mostly I plan my profiles through Vplanner and run agains the VR3 to compare.

You might also look at Shearwater and Hammerhead integrated CCR computers.
I use a Shearwater with some regularity.

Also, there is nothing quite like tables written into Wetnotes. I used this method almost 90% of the time + it has never gone belly-up.

There is soon going to be a newcomer in the CCR computer world, check out the guys at Liquivision. They should have a CCR capable computer out soon. Check out The Deco Stop for more details.

Agreed! I run profiles on vplanner and VR3, and compare and transfer the most conservative to wetnotes, along with contingency and o/c bailout profies.
