Hey, guys. Newly certified, just getting into it all and ready to really start learning: what would you recommend as a good reference text? My aims are to learn and to understand at a deeper level than the PADI OW book offers but at a practical level (ie - not too interested in history of diving etc - more interested in knowledge to help technique). I've had a quick look at PADI site and searched amazon for texts but would welcome your guidance on what might be most appropriate.

Of course, the best way to learn is often to do rather than to read about doing but reading about diving is the next best thing when you can't actually be diving.

Thanks for any thoughts
