What BC/BP setup should I go for?

I have seen various harness w/ bp's. I would like to customize a backplate with my own harness. I like the OMS IQ pack setup, but I want to keep it a little more simplier. I am mainly thinking about a simple harness setup with 3 rear rings, and 2 rings on each shoulder with an integrated weight system. Has anyone done this before. Please help?

Sounds like you'd be a perfect FredT customer since you want to rig you're own harness.

Fred sells a good SS backplate and the harness/hardware materials. With this stuff, you can use any wing you prefer be it a Halcyon, Dive-Right, OMS, or another.

I'm sure one of the others here (Uncle Pug, Lost Yooper, Roakey, et al) will be more than willing to answer other questions you would have.

I use the Halcyon rig, but I would go with a Fred T Plate, STA, and Halcyon wing if I had it to do over again -- to save some money. A plate is plate, but the Halycon wing is top notch and is worth the extra money. Whatever you do, don't get a bungied wing ().
