You always hear alot about how good (or bad) conditions are but never the reasons why.

What makes for one of those rare "top-to-bottom" viz days off of Fort Lauderdale?

What wind speeds and directions absolutely cause the area to be the equavalent of diving in a warmer version of Lake Erie (barely seeing the SPG in front of your mask..)?

I am ready to start understanding the anatomy of a good diving condition rather than just leaving it to chance..(diving, for me at least, is too expensive a hobby to play "guess my viz")

Easterly winds for days on end, like we've been having, make the water visibility poor (30-40 feet) and pretty uncomfortable on the surface (short rollers). Its better when the wind turns to the north, the east or its the best from the west.:D
