I'm hoping to visit Mexico for the first time next July, in search of whale sharks and, of course, great diving!
Do people think Holbox or Isla Mujeres is a better bet as a base ffor a couple of days to take a whale shark trip? Cost is a factor as I'm on a tight budget, but the main thing is the quality of the experience, and how much time there'll be (hopefully!) to swim with the creatures.
After that, I'm planning a few days' diving in Cozumel, so if anyone has any advice on decent budget accommodation or dive outfits, I'd really appreciate it! I only really need somewhere clean, convenient and quiet to put my head down - although, of course, pools and views would be a bonus!
Many thanks in advance for any help.
