Hey Guys, newbie to the forum here. Looks awesome. I am heading to Marathon and Key Largo at the end of Feb on a dive trip. What are your recommendations for wetsuit? 5mm 7mm?

I am looking at a 6.5 mil oceanic semi-dry. Will I be roasting? I'm pretty cold natured as it is and not looking fwd to freezing.

Thanks in advance!!!

I seriously doubt you need a 7mm or a semi dry. A 5mm would be good if you plan to do a lot of dives. A 3mm is what most people would wear. If you are truly concerned, the merino lined suits from Pinnacle are really nice and are basically as warm as the next thickness. The 5mm being about as warm as a 7mm. MY wife is normally a cold person and uses a 2mm shorty in 80+ water. A full 3mm will be much warmer than a shorty. Get a hood for some extra heat retention. Of course the most important factor is fiot, so make sure you buy the right suit for you, regardless of manufacturer.

Did Key Largo in March last year. I was fine with a 3 mm. I even left the back zipper opwn on my second dive. I didn;t wear a hood or gloves. There were people on the boat that wore a 3 mm with a vest and attached hood and another person with a 5mm - he said he was warm. I didn't speak to the couple wearing the vest because they didn't speak english.

Water was 72 at 35 ft.
