I just recently got my OW cert in November. I live in the St. Louis, MO area and would like to know what thickness other Midwest divers use for a wetsuit.

What times of the year are you diving? Since we are in STL I would guess our season is cut short. I was suprised to be diving in Nov for a Cert.

MsParamedic:
Welcome to diving Bizness!

Im also in St. Louis and have a 3ml with a 2ml step in. This works out great for Mermet Springs and Table Rock.

Welcome!
In the summer I wear a 3mm unless I am diving deep, then I switch to my 7mm. In the fall and spring I used to wear my 7mm jumpsuit, but I finally got my DUI dry suit last week so now I will be opting for that rather than the 7mm. I will be getting it wet for the first time this weekend at Bonne Terre. Yeah!

The dive season for non-dry suit diving is April (fingers crossed) til November. Of course, the weather dictates it all! Once you get a drysuit (which I still haven't--but it's on my wish list!), you can pretty much late February til into December.
