We'll be at Bananarama in West Bay next week. Wondering if it's feasible / advisable to walk back and forth to the West End.

TIA

Nick

We did the walk quite often during the day, but it's not necessarily a quick one. It took us about 20 minutes to get from Luna Beach to West Bay Beach. We did it just to get some exercise and we were in no hurry. I wouldn't walk it at night because among other things there were some areas where we had to walk over rocks, etc. and that would be especially hard in the dark.

It's maybe 1.5 miles (perhaps 45 minutes) from Bananarama to the middle of West End. The walk is along the beach the whole way. After West Bay Beach, you go past Gumbalimbo Park and then walk along some undeveloped beach land before you get to West End. It's a fun walk in the morning when it's not so hot, and I recommend doing this at least once and then taking a water taxi back. However, I don't think it's that practical to routinely walk back and forth. It's simply much easier to take the water taxis for only $2 each way. (That was the price two years ago when I was there; maybe it's more now.) As the other poster said, there is a short area just before Luna Beach Resort where you have to go over some rocks. I wouldn't want to do the walk at night.
