Went to the doc today because my right thigh feels like its in a knot occasionally and he perscribed cyclobenzaprine & naproxen.( a muscle relaxant and basically strong alieve) My Doc is not a diving doc, so seeing as I have a dive trip coming up next week over the thanksgiving holiday I wanted to check if this is something I should be laying off while diving - or am i good to go....?

Cyclobenzaprine (the generic name for "Flexeril") is well known to be extremely sedating, with the possibility of a lot of other nasty side effects such as dizziness, blurred vision and confusion, just to name a few.

You should NOT take this drug while diving, or even within 2 days of diving for that matter. It's use should be limited to a few days of at-home use only, and you should not be behind the wheel of a car or any other heavy equipment while you are taking it.

If your muscle spasms are still bothering you to the point of needing medication by next week, you should seriously consider not diving at all. (Sorry!)
