Any guidance for weight needed when diving my new drysuit? Here's a few details.

DUI TLS350
300 wt softwear undergarment
scubapro twin jet fins, slightly negatively buoyant
AL-80 tank
saltwater diving

The last time I wrote down in my log the amount of weight that I used was a few years and 60 pounds ago. Back then I weighed 225 and needed 31 pounds to get me down in a 7mm farmer john. Any thoughts on how much weight I'll need?

The amount of lead needed will vary so much I wouldn't even make a wild guess at it.
I use about 6 lbs less in a drysuit than a farmer john & your mileage will no doubt vary.
It's best to get your weight adjusted at a shallow "walk-in" location, like next to a dock or some other place where you can easily mess with the weights & get yourself dialed in.

Lets do this a different way...Rather than me estimating what you'd need, here's what I use.

E7-100 steel tank
Monterey diving
TLS350 with 300g underware

25lbs (20 on my waist, with a 5lb backplate).

I uses the same weight with my 7mil Henderson hyperstretch (and hooded vest) as I do with my TLS350.

I weigh 190.

Nothing beats a weight check with near empty tanks, but I've heard that 10% of your body weight plus a pound or two is a place to start the adjustments from.

Through your helpful suggestions, plus some reading I did (rummaged through my garage to find my old Adventures In Diving manual). The 10% rule plus 3-5 pounds seems like a good place to start. Add 5 pounds for the AL-80 tank, and that brings me to about 25 pounds. I know I'll be flopping around all over the place, but that's a part of drysuit diving in the beginning anyways, right?
