I am going from using LP95's and HP 100's to an AL100 for a dive on Monday. I have never used the 100's outside of my pool and my pool is not deep enough to do a buoyancy check. (I'm 5'8" and my pool is 6')

With the LP & HP I use 12 lbs of weight.

How much should I add for the AL100? (Catalina C100)

As you can see here:

Catalina C100 has very close empty buoyancy to an HP100 (although it depends on the HP100). You won't need more than 1-2lbs extra.

Thanks!

I have dove with several diff. steel tanks actually with the latest being lp95 and hp100's. I use 12 pounds with whatever steel tank I use (even used 12lbs on a 119) I am starting to think that I am over weight on some and under on others, but psychologically my minds says steel and I have my "steel" weight so I "think" that I am correctly weighted.

The more I think about it, I don't have to adjust anything if going from hp100 to lp95 and can complete the entire dive with zero air in my bc and stay neutral.

I would get in the pool with a near empty tank and sink to the bottom. Get every bit of air out of your bc/suit. Sit, lay down, whatever you like. Start removing weight in small increments. Watch your breathing for a more accurate buoyancy check.
