I am looking to purchase new undergarments. I have tried the Dive Rite Primaloft - though that was in a swimming pool and I have used the Weezle Extreme (borrowed from a friend). The Weezle is a bit more expensive due to the exchange rate for the BP and the addition of a tariff by Uncle Sam. My initial thoughts are that the Weezle is thicker, but compresses well. The Dive Rite was thinner but very comfortable too. I can't say about the warmth comparisons though. I get cold easy and dive in quarries with temps in the 40s and 50s and sometimes into the high 30s. I am diving a Whites Fusion drysuit. Would love to hear feedback on these two undergarments.

I'm responding so I get subscribed to this thread. Interested in the feedback.

The fusion will squeeze the air out of the weezle and making it not so effective. Try a 200g thinsulate undergarment. Thinsulate require less air to be an effecive insulator and is more compressed.

I use an 400g thinsulate all year around in Norway.

So far I am happy with the Weezle I am borrowing - I can put a little air in to increase loft or squeeze a little air out to cool down (don't need much of that this time of year). It was easier for me to bend over to tie my boots on with the Dive Rite Primaloft as compared to the Weezle, but I am unsure of the warmth characteristics of the Primaloft since it is a much lower loft than the Weezle.

Look into Fourth Element for a great option.

I'm a huge fan of Primaloft.

It was developed by Albany Industries for the US Military. They needed a synthetic that was a warm as down, but not bulky like other synthetics.

Primaloft works by trapping air inside the fiber and it is made using short staple fibers, much like down.

Products like Polarguard and Thinsulate are long staple fibers and trap air in between fibers.

Thinsulate has historically been heavier than Polarguard for the same warmth. However in diving, weight isn't as important. But due to the fact that it is heavier, it tends to be cheaper.

How the Primaloft relates to the Thinsulate and Polarguard to diving?

Let us say you have this big thick Thinsulate undergarment on, you really need to have a lot of air in your suit to allow the undergarment to have enough space to work. The Primaloft does not need all that volume and it will still work marginally well if compressed.

Also, over time, Thinsulate and Polarguard loose their ability to loft, hence keep you warm. Primaloft is less prone to this.

Someone mentioned 4th Element. That is good stuff.

The Whites MK3 works great with the Fusion drysuit.

I have the Whites Pro Series undergarment, but because I am short, and a bit round - the arms and legs are way too long and the extra fleece around my middle made it impossible for me to put my own boots on much less tie them myself. It did keep me warm, but it is a bit of a hassle to have my dear husband always finish dressing me, so he now wears the undergarment and it fits him much better than it did me. The other Whites choices were not good options either because of my size - 5'3" and around 175 lbs.

I use Weezle Extreem Plus in cold water inql. ice dives. It's very comfortable and warm. Some peoples who used many types of undergarment said that Weezle is much more warmer than any of another.
For me: water about 39 degrees aprox. 1 hour - excellent !
"-" of Weezle is: very hot on surface. You have to prepare all dive eqip. and than quickly jump into water to prevent getting sweat.
Second "-" is that material of this undergarment (i don't know how to say it in English... ) mmmmm... gets into valve so it's difficult to get out of extra air from drysuit (Hope you'll understand what i mean... :cool3: )

And finally when i put Weezle i look like i have short legs and tall body.... Not cool, my wife said =)

neither. Pinnacle Evo2 Merino is warmer and thinner than the Weezle Extreme
