Hello,

what websites you recommend me to buy INON products in USA?

I prefer to buy INON directly from USA what are the places you recommend me?

in particular I would like to buy

INON strobe D-2000

INON UWL-100 28AD Lens without hood

and

INON Dome unit which takes viewing angle of lens when fitted to UWL-100 28AD From 100° - to 158° , I will also need the spacer

any of you have bougth this items? from where in the USA?

if you own them let me know where I can see pics you have taken ;)

I will use them with canon S90 and Canon G11

thanks

Mario

The UWL100-28AD can be fitted to the FIX90 housing (with 28AD adapter mount) and the Canon DC-35 housing (with Inon 28AD mount kit) for the S90 but will NOT work with any G11 configuration.

JFYI, the UWL100-28D plus the dome is a huge, heavy, expensive chunk of metal and glass to hang on the front of a 200 dollars Canon DC-35 housing that is really just a wet case or at best a very light duty piece of equipment.

Really?

Is the Canon DC-35 (and by extension the DC-38 that I just bought for the S95) really just a wet case.

Please advise asap as I was planning on taking it on a dive tomorrow.

I have owned two Canon OEM housings. Both suffered from various stuck buttons and resulting malfunctions. One required that I "sand" a mold line from the O ring groove. Neither inspired confidence. However, once I rebuilt the faulty buttons with new springs and or O rings and lubricated them with 100% liquid silicone and "sanded" the mold line and thoroughly cleaned them after each use I had no problems with them.

Good luck, there is a reason I did not mind plunking down the 800 dollars for the FIX. You asked, that is my opinion.

I have had 2 canon's with their housings and have taken them down as far as 140 ft with no problems. I currently use the G10 with their housing and my macro button does stick at times, however after adding a little liquid silicone to it before my last trip it worked flawlessly.

I know many UWP who use their housings, also without issues.... if you are very serious about what you use and have the $$$, go ahead and spend an extra $600+ for a housing.... or use that money to add on to your system with strobe, FO cable, extra lenses, etc.

No doubt you encountered those problems and no doubt in my mind you are a very knowledgeable underwater photographer from your posts here on the board.
However, the other side of the coin is money, and more of it for the higher end housings. Vacation divers and others, including myself, don't want to lay out $800. for a housing for a variety of reasons.

Many, if not most underwater photographers are "vacation divers" and just want to jump into the water for that two week vacation carrying only a camera in an inexpensive case.

Thanks to Canon who makes more camera models and more inexpensive housings than any other brand, "vacation divers" are able to just jump into the water and take good or even great photos with only a camera in an inexpensive case.

I'm not saying that Canon is the "be all" in camera equipment but they sure seem to be the king of the hill when it comes to relatively inexpensive cameras in inexpensive housings that take great photos. I believe that's what most "vacation" divers are looking for.

For example; for about $600. a "vacation diver" with a Canon S90 or S95 in a Canon housing coupled with a short learning curve and the Canon DPP post-processing software that comes with the camera can just "jump" into the water and take great photos.

I assume you will be in Italy when you order these items?

I'm not sure what your taxes and import tariffs are, if any, and what shipping you will be charged but you may also want to compare prices with UWdigitalcamera in Japan

The owner's name is Yuzo. He is very reputable. I have ordered products from him in the past.

I can also recommend Yuzo. He has excellent pricing and is very good to deal with... I have bought through him, as well as through reef photo here in the US, and have been very satisfied with both dealers.
