Turns out that thing I was talking about is actually made for cutting rope...who'da thunk it?

Scroll down a little bit and look for the rope cutting tip. That's what my LDS uses...

What you want is the T-521, shown about halfway down this page. It's a handy size for one, two, or three side-by-side pieces of webbing. The T-531 and T-541 are too much for this job; save them for cutting that heavy-duty bungee.
