Last week I was on my boat in Kenosha's South Port Marina. The entrance to the marina is quite narrow and there is shoal water (less than 5 feet) on each side. My attention was attracted by an extraordinarily loud boat horn being repeatedly sounded. I looked over toward the harbor entrance to see a large cruiser (It looked to be about 40 ft.) slowly navigating through the harbor opening. A minute or two later a call on channel 16 on the VHF came through. The operator of a PWC was calling the Coast Guard. He reported that as he was comming into South Port a large cruiser that was going out sounded his horn 5 or 6 times. He told the Coast Guard that he was concerned that the cruiser might be in distress. Clueless. Gotta love em.
