I've noticed flying out of Cozumel that on the northern tip of the island there is a protected cove with some sort of resort or hacienda up there. I've always seen several boats anchored in and around the cove.
Is this a resort?
Is there diving up there and do any dive ops venture up there?
Is it only accessible by boat? I've taken all the roads I know of on the north end as far as they go, paved anyway and a few past the paving, (don't tell the car rental places!!)

just curious, gracias

I read an article in one of the dive rags a while back. The author basicly chartered a boat to go visit several areas up there. No regularly scheduled tours that I know of. There is Isla de Pasion and several great sounding lagoons. I think they ended up at a wreck.

I think you can get to Isla de Pasion from the road if you're willing to take a hike and swim...

You can also charter bonefishing trips up there.

I read somewhere that they take the pod people up there for a little get away from it all beach time. I can't believe they go somewhere to get away from themselves :11:

I don't know for sure about that, but I am skeptical that cruise ship operators would go to all the trouble to haul masses of pod persons all the way to the northern end of the island where there is no infrastructure. My guess is that if such a place exists, it's some rich man's private retreat.

Yes you may be right. I found where I read it I am going to link it here but who knows anybody can write anything. Scroll down the page til you come to B Punta Molas and then look at 2 paragraph. It would be kinda cool to go there if it wasn't packed with people.

The type is too small to read easily, but it looks like they are indeed saying that the pod people go up there. That's too bad; I thought we had them relatively contained... ;^)

I kind of think it must be somone's private place, but whoever it is has some serious dough. it looks like a pretty well developed compound with several buildings. like I said I've only seen it from the air. but last time we were there in early Sept. there were probably 10 boats in the area, like I said some in the cove it's self and others in the shallows, so bone fishing could be the deal. Hey! Parrothead, maybe Jimmy's up there doing some flyfishing!!!
Gordon, looks like we are going to be in Coz at the same time, who are you diving with, we are going out with Martin. We'll be there from the 4th thru the 13th

I'll be there May 8-22, staying at Caribe Blu and diving with Blue Angel. Maybe we can meet up for a cervesa fria. Didn't we just miss each other there last May?

Oh, look, they have fixed the countdown timer. It doesn't say that we are all getting there in the middle of the night any more.

I think the idea is to get them somplace where they can only spend money with you...
