water in download jacks?

Just bought a Aeris 500AI on sale. On the side, there is a port for downloading a dive program. I don't see a rubber boot/grommet the goes in it. It's a jack similar to a telephone jack. Can this get wet? There's no mention of it in the instructions.
 
Differerent Computer but maybe the same answer.

I dive a Cobra. The download contacts are also the contacts that automatically turn on the computer when it is imersed. So at least on the COBRA from SUUNTO, it is not only OK for the contacts to get wet, it is necessary to turn on the comuter automatically.

I will bet your computer does the same thing. But to be safe e-mail the company.
