Hey i'm new to this site and new to scuba diving. I am a welder and I really want to get into under water welding. maybe even ship salvaging and stuff like that. I work in the alberta oil field. I thought that some people on this site could help me out with where to get started and maybe even where to look for work once i'm ready. I have herd that it is really hard to get into that line of work but its been a dream of mine since I was young. On top of the work side of things i would really like to get into the sport side of scuba as well.
so hi to all and thanks for any help :D

Welcome madprops, I don't have any recent connections with underwater welding. . . but I did have a dive buddy that worked some friendly work schedule. His employer worked out of Lousiana, but his dive training was in Houston. . . His background before diving was as a high pressure pipe welder.

Do a google search for welding schools in Texas. Good luck!
