Hello!

My first time to Fiji. I usually do liveaboards. This trip I want to take my wife to a resort were the diving is good and the hotel is nice. I plan on staying 12 days/10 days diving and would like to do two am dives and spend the rest of the day with her. I think I have narrowed it down to Wananavu and the Koro Sun resorts. Any comments or other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Just got back from Wananavu - the place is great . I know nothing about Koro Sun. I did not like the dive op (but I've been very spoiled by other dive ops) . Dont expect to be catered to. There was NO brief prior to our dives. Some of the dive sites are very far from the resort. We were on the Nai'a and were moored at one of the sites and the crew told us they will do 3 tank dives to the further sites if there are plenty of people that are up for the all day trek, so I was under the impression they wont go unless there are enough people signed up.
Overall, wananavu is beautiful, definatly upgrade to the oceanview bur. We have pics on our website: www.scubastruck.com

If you do go to wananavu, they will take you via boat to a very secluded island just off the resort. Ask the kitchen to pack you a lunch ! Its a must do !

You've picked two of the best Fiji has to offer! Both resorts have excellent dive ops who can take you to the places that otherwise only live-aboards can get to. At Wananavu, Kai Viti is top notch with great boats. Same thing for Colin at Koro Sun. The biggest difference is that Koro Sun is a nicer resort than Wananavu. I think the price might reflect this. Getting to Vanua Levu will be a bit more of a challenge because of the domestic airlines and their weight restrictions, but is still worth it. I have heard that the Savusavu Airport may be closed and you need to fly into another airport further away (but I'm not sure if that's official). You would not go wrong with either one. I have also been to Beqa and its nice, but the diving is not the same as in the Bligh waters, but the resort and food there is fantastic.

Koro Sun also has golf, kayaking, an amazing spa, and many other activities. I got just a little bored at Wananavu in comparison.

Either would be an excellent choice.
