Hi, I am planning to dive during mid-July, with live-abords since I find it's very comfortable and efficient.

I have narrowed down to Palau (Ocean Hunter), or Wakatobi (Pelagian).
I guess July is not the best season to dive in these places, even both operators claim that July is still pretty OK to dive.
But I am still a bit worried that the weather conditions and visibility is not so good, or it might not be the season to see any really interesting animals.

Has anyone been to these sites during July? Is it worth spending 4000$-5000$ for it or should I choose other options?
I have already been to Komodo, Tubbataha, Maldives, Thailand, Sipadan/Mabul.
I like both big and macro stuff :)

Thankful for all recommendations.

I have been to Lembeh and the Raja Ampats in July - and yes, it is the off season, but we have had incredible sightings at every dive site !!! The vis varied from site to site, mostly because of all the nutrients in the water. The weather was great, a few scattered showers, but sunshine every day.

We are returning to the liveaboard, the Raja Ampat Explorer for 9 nights July 9th - 18th and have 1 open spot .... if interested in the details, please email me at pj-campagna@comcast.net and I can send the details to you.

DivingTemptress, thanks for the information.

Although Lembeh and Raja Ampats is quite far away from Wakatobi, but it gives some idea. I did more searching and it seems that July is not worse that other seasons, but it's a bit colder (25-26C in the water).

I also read many negative articles about Pelagian, so now I am not sure about it anymore. i will check Raja Ampat Explorer, if everything fits, I email you.
