I bought the Vyper air 3 weeks ago after I read some good comments on different forums/sites , I have 26 dives with it a total of 15 hours and a max depth of 18 meter so it is still shiny …
I am happy with it, but now the compass doesn’t work anymore ; it just shows the North-bearing and don’t rotate anymore if I turn !!! and it is also impossible to calibrate all the rest still works ( about the dive info I didn’t dive anymore with it )
Does anybody had a similar problem ?
Anyway tomorrow it goes back to dive supply
I let you guys know what was wrong , it is a resent new dive computer, so maybe it is a child problem ?
Maybe I bought better the Vytec mmm to late …

Thanx guys

Couple of thoughts.

It could be a calibration issue. Try the calibration steps again making sure you're turning 180 degrees very slowly. Same when you calibrate the tilt.

Does it work on dry land?

No doesn't work on the land, this was the place where i discoverd the problem ,when i gave a demonstration to a interested diver quitte silly hey... when i tried the calibration it didn,t do nothing so i directly returned it to dive suply i see wat they say ...
Thanx

I have the new Vyper Air and it has 100 dives on it, compass works great. Took a little getting used to at first. No problems. Don't think the computer model is a "problem child" but maybe your computer has a problem :depressed:

I have a Viper Air that is about 10 months old. No problems. I don't use the compass, though. Just take it back to where you bought it. It will be gone for a few weeks, since it will need to be sent back to Suunto.
Dive computers, just like any other electronics, can have problems.

Most electronics if they are going to fail, fail early in their life. This problem sounds like that case. Unless the computer was gray market you should be getting a replacement.

Just got news , they say I callibrated it wrong...? what could u possiblely do wrong about it, computer said it was accurate and it worked fine.... So the compass locked itself. Funny it takes them a week to fix this though :) Next week, get it back, try again!
