I know these computers are both very similar and made by Pelagic, but there is one significant difference.

The VT Pro has an air time remaining bar graph which the Aeris computer does not.

To find out the remaining air time with the Aeris you must hold down the front button for 2 seconds...seems like a pain while I am holding my camera and busy doing other stuff.

Any comments from VT Pro or Aeris users as to how important it is to observe the remaining air time and if having the extra bar graph (saving the hassle of pressing another button) is worth considering the VT Pro over the Aeris??

In all honesty... I don't much care for the graph anyway. The Big Number in the middle tells you how much time you have left on which ever you are running out of first... air or nitrogen. It is much easier to see a big 12 in the middle of the screen and then know you have 12 minutes of air remaining instead of dots on a bar graph. It also will have the air below 870psi So with those two bits of data - I really don't miss another graph on there.

Then Aeris allows us to do net sales, while Oceanic doesn't, and Aeris is much faster for us in shipping, repairs, problem resolution, etc... So I'm kinda partial to Aeris...

Not sure what you mean by the air below 870 psi display. I know there is an alarm that can be set for low psi.

Totally agree with scuba toys
Have the VT PRo and the bar graph is pretty small and not very useful in my opinion. The number that is indicated in the center is easily viewed, when air time is currently the limiting factor to your dive time.

However, this "time" is dependent on your depth and current usage rate and also has a pretty hefty safety factro built in, so the time itself does not hold valuable informatoin for me, but I see it merely as a guideline. Once you ascend a few meters, your airtime will naturally go up, so it is hard to predict from the graph what our airtime will be in a mltilevel dive.

For me, knowing your SAC and monitoring the electronic guage of actual tank gas pressure is far more useful...can make your own estimates of how much time you have at the depths you plan to dive at.

What I meant is whatever the remaining air is... 870 psi, 550 psi, 1200 psi, you are seeing that number on the bottom of the computer. And that number means something to me instantly.... more so than a graph to me.

Scubatoys...
Don't know if I was making myself clear, but I was actually trying to agree with you. Still jet lagged from Thailand...Hulk must rest.....

Jagfish... I saw that you were... I was just trying to answer this:

My earlier post was a bit confusing when I read back over it... so I was just trying to clarify that one...
