Vortex Spring Status

Has anyone been to Vortex recently? I was there back in late October of last year, and it was OK. I have a class that will need O/W dives in about 3 weeks, and I wonder if the "feud" between the previous and current owner has been resolved.

Also, anyone heard anything about when Morrison will re-open in its "new" configuration?

Vortex is open.

They even have a representative on Scuboard, username VortexBlue.

I went two weeks ago for OW Certification. Just a heads up - the men's bathroom and changing rooms were about as clean as anything you would find at 2am on Bourbon Street. Wondering if they might spend a few bucks and clean the bathrooms once in a while ? :11:

If you have an issue please feel free to let me know about it while you are here and I will get something done about it ASAP. Without feed back like this I would never know. I live on site and rearly use the those bathrooms because it is just as easy for me to walk home than to walk across to the public facilities. I am sorry that it was a mess and I will make sure that it is checked more often.

I was there last Saturday, for the first time in almost two years.

As for "the feud", I don't know. I don't care. None of my business.

As for the cost and the diving:
It's cheaper than it used to be. Price is now about $20, and does not include a fill. Fills (I think) are about $5.
The diving seemed to be about the same as I remembered it... pretty crowded so get there early. Vis sucks when the crowds arrive.
