Ok, a couple of weeks ago I did my AOW training in Flordia. The city and dive operation were both new to me.

I've never had a history of motion sickness. And I really didn't feel "seasick." However after the second tank of air on both days, I vomited. (didn't get much distance with it either, much to my dismay:wacko: ) Then I was totally fine the rest of the time.

So, I've been racking my brain to figure out why, why why... was it the cattle boat, the new surroundings, or contaminated air (I was the only one on the boat who urped) or am I just sensitive...

All the dives went well and "according to the book"....

I would appreciate any input on this.

Thanks

I had a similar problem when I started out.

At first, I thought it was the boat/seasickness. Then it was happening on shore dives as well. It was always after I'd surfaced (created some really unpleasant RIB rides where I was saying "if you object to the site of vomiting, look the other way"). Then it was onto trying to guess the cause.

Bad air, vertigo, food poisoning and everything else was suggested to me.

So after a process of deduction, a thoughtful dive guide was convinced it had to be air in the stomach (it was after a particularly current-strenuous dive that I was really heaving). She told me to breath slowly, deeply, relax and lo and behold, I was perfectly fine!

Hope you figure it out soon.

Lou
