This video was originally posted in the technical diving section. However, as some agencies are now introducing the subject of gas consumption in courses after open water, I am also posting this video in the advanced diving section. We currently cover this subject in our advanced and deep water courses. This is an important subject in planning dives. Some divers have difficulty in understanding the way that this is presented. This video presents a method for calculating gas consumption that many divers find easier to understand.

while the examples are from technical diving profiles, the concept is the same for recreational diving.

My suspicion is that life is a bit easier using the metric system and being able to handle the rule of three.

Way easier for those who practice the metric system or are even willing to learn it. Unfortunately, that is not always the case in the US.

Memotion bar to many divers in the US and they will tell you that you are not suppose to drink while diving.
