I went to Monad Shoal this week. It's near Malapascua Island in the Philippines for those who aren't familiar. This time of year in the morning at about 5:30 am (sunrise), you can most likely see them. I did three dives each morning for three days. The window of time that they rise from deeper waters to the shoal for cleaning is brief, so only one dive at the site will result in sightings.

The trick is getting those up close encounters. Which is why I dove three days in a row. Two of the clips in the video were from day one, one of the clips was from day two, and the last day all the encounters were at a distance.

Be sure to increase the YouTube settings to 1080p for the best viewing.

While I was in the Philippines I also visited Balicasag Island off of panglao Island at the southern tip of Bohol. There is a dive site known as Catherdal. It is also called Turtle Point for obvious reasons.

Here is a video of a Sea Turtle swimming directly into my lens. I held my ground if there is such a thing in the water. :)
