Need some basic questions please.

During daylight in clear water (Palau), are lights needed or advisable to pick up colors (Sony TRV 30)? Would no lights be ok?

Are Ikelite or Equinox good housings?

Thanks!

Shallower than 60 feet you do not need a light if you have a red filter.

Even then I don't use a red filter, but most of my stuff is less than 30 ft so there isn't that much red loss. I found that the red filter made everything pink especially in clear water.

What kind of red filter are you using ? My Gates Diego comes with a UR pro filter which works great even in at 15 feet. I have seen a Amphibico Dive Buddy housing whose filter resulted in pink footage for anything shallower than 35 feet.
