I just don't log dives
After our little mini-seasson adventure we needed to refill the O2 bottles.
That was a good opportunity to give an in-depth inspection/maintenance to all the first aid related equipment and consumables we keep on board.

Besides filling the tanks we wanted to include some basic reminder of the set up.
I did a quick search to see if I could find a one page printable to be laminated but came out with nothing.
I figure we can take photos and create our own guide.
While doing that we decided it would be a good idea to get some extra mask for each type of gas delivery.
Well DAN has this "update kits" that fit exactly what we needed. It even included a nice slate with every reminder you may need in the heat of an event. All for $18.

Considering everything related to scuba is so expensive it was nice to see something at a reasonable price.
It made my day.... Don't want bent divers on our boat but if something happens again we are ready.

time to order....

What do you use?

We keep going back and forth between a bigger bottle (D or E) or two smaller ones (M something I think).
The bigger bottle provides more O2. obviously but it has to be stored separate from the reg/mask.
The 2 smaller bottles fit nicely in a 1500 pelican case with masks/reg, so you only have to grab one thing when is time.

Not sure how we ended up with these many oxygen bottles, but now the options give you more to think. Granted is just a small boat, it isn't a matter or minutes when grabbing stuff from 2 places in the cabin.

Right now the 2 smaller bottles need hydro testing, so one of the big bottles is on board... but the dilemma for the "perfect set up" continues.

I only have the small single bottle (M9 - Rescue Pack?). I am not a business. Yeah, it has been a consideration to get a second bottle. Right now the 02 kit is in a Pellican case. I pondered a second bottle into a first aid kit....

It would be a 20 minute to 1 hour run to a harbor, so I probably need to think more about it..

I also have a DIN to 02 fitting to allow me to use a DECO bottle on the regulator. There would likely be DECO gas on board if we were out that far...

IDK..

Got it.. We are not a business either, and since 2006 when go bought the kit never had to use it until 3 weeks ago and it wasn't for us.
But after that event I discovered that we can do better. Everything went ok and my friend is 100% back, doctor told her she can go diving again but I fumbled a little setting it up. I also used the less optimal option for gas delivery.

She was fully conscious so the demand valve would've been the way to go instead of the always on, I also set it to the max rate instead of the recommended 10-15 lpm. Not detrimental to my friend but could've been more efficient.

If the next event happens another 14 years from now I don't want to rely on my memory.
