Hi all.

The wife and I needed an adventure... Bob's your uncle here we are.. Just started the PADI coarse and are doing our first swimming pool dive in 2 days time.
We are both so exited and can't wait to see what the under water world has install for us.

However, we will do most of our diving in UK and need some top tips and advise on westuits, dry suits, best quality out there and we are also looking to get setup with BCD's regs and so on..

Any advise is very welcome!!

Thanks

:)

Welcome to Scubaboard!!!
I hope you enjoy the adventure upon which you & your wife are about to embark on. Can't say I know much about the equipment available over there. The most important thing about your equipment is the fit & comfort. Don't worry so much about brand names. Make sure the equipment fits well, is comfortable & will serve the purpose you intend to use it for. Any competent dive shop should be able to properly fit you to your needs. Try on several different styles & possibly sizes. Find out what is most comfortable to you (or your wife). If the dive shop will allow it, see if they will let you try it out in the water. That's where it matters most.

welcome aboard!!
as tammy said, exposure protection should fit...YOU!
enjoy the shopping!
have fun

Welcome to the the board. Here you will get a lot of opinons.

BCD -- Backplate/wing "Halcyon Eclipse"
Drysuit -- Bare "Tri-lam HD Tech Dry" Is the one I like.
Reg's -- ScubaPro or Atomic " I like the MK17/G250V or Atomic M1's" as I dive in colder waters.
Wetsuit -- Bare or Henderson
Computers -- Oceanic has a nice line and all work well. I own 2

Welcome to Diving and good luck with your course

Welcome to :sblogo:

The board is a great resource to answer many of your questions. You can use the :search: option to find threads of questions that are frequently asked. Also, check out your local forum. That would be most optimal to talk with your fellow locals on the best dive sites and the best gear for your diving conditions.

Hallo every 1.

Thank you for the advise. I have made a mental note off it all.

Now for the shopping to start... Yippy!!

Regards

I find it best to just buy the basics at first, because you never no until youve done a couple of dives if you are medically able, or if you actually going to enjoy it, and with using hired kit for the first few months you will decide what you prefer Eg back inflater BC or Normal, Steel or aluminium cylinders, Din or a Clamp etc

Goodluck and enjoy
