Hey all i have just completed my open water cert and have fallen deeply inlove with the sport, its the most amazing feeling being under there, its like nothing else exists except where you are and what you are doing. I have already started looking for gear and have found myself very partial too the Scubapro brand but i am open too all advice and recomendations, i hope too talk to alot of you and get to know the ins and outs of the sport even more.

Cheers, Ben.

Congratulations!! There is nothing like it in the world! Just a suggestion, but take a little time selecting gear. Try to dive a few different brands and find one that fits YOU!! Maybe your LDS or friends have different BC's you can try. Everyone has their favorite brand and what they think is best. The best BCD or regulator is the one that fits you and suits your needs. Enjoy diving, remember your training and BE SAFE!!

Welcome to SB and diving. It's a great new lifestyle you have dived into.

+1 to RickyF advise. Try out lots of gear before you start on big purchases. If feel like you have to buy some dive stuff (it's a common feeling, I always seem to have a browser pointed towards scubatoys) start with the lower cost essentials like a dive knife/tool, smb, quality light and back up light and exposure protection. Borrowing and renting gear will help you determine what you like and what works for you.

Dive safe

Welcome to the 'Underworld'...Your fortunate to live in one of the best dive locations in the world....Ditto to what the others have said about trying as many different brands/styles of gear as possible.....Bc's are one of the major pieces of gear you'll be using/buying and there are several 'styles' or types....Jacket, bp/wing and combos.....Research previous threads/posts about it...You'll see a pattern in what people who love and dive regularly prefer and end up with......Maybe we'll meet-up some day and dive 'Toad Hall'...It's on the 'bucket list'.....

Welcome! That amazing feeling just gets better - you got it, it's truly like nothing else exists when you dive. Have fun!
