I'm a recently certified newbie with more classes to take. I've just made a purchase of the VEO 250 NAVCON console for a few reasons.

1- It will be my first computer and based on reviews and talking with others it seems to be a good choice with some advanced functionality

2- I figured down the road when I bought a wrist/wireless I'd still be able to use the SPG and compass, and/or donate this one to my wife.

3- I got a great price from an authorized dealer with warranty

Now, of course LP puts the Uwatec Smart Tec wrist + trans on sale for a great price. Also, it seems to get great reviews and have all the functionality I would probably need for a lifetime or until it breaks past warranty.

So, should I jump on the Smart Tec knowing I probably won't be able to use all of it's capabilities (except AI) or just leave well enough alone and stick with my original choice knowing the next time an outgoing computer goes on clearance I can find great deals then as well.
