Hoping that Venice locals will help us out with current conditions off Venice for shark toofing - vis?, red tide?, and how far off the beach do we have to be to get away from the beach renourishment. We will diving from our boat and wondered if diving off Casperson would be better than Venice beach???? Any help would be appreciated.

If you are diving off of your own boat try off of Golden Beach about 100 yards or so in about 20-25'.
Thanks for the advice. We just returned from Venice and had a good time. We were pretty close to the machinery they are using to renourish the beach but other than having to listen to the sound underwater, can't say it affected our vis. We managed to find a few nice teeth and lots of broken ones (heart breakers). Also found about a 20 lb mammoth elephant tooth which was really cool. They should have great teeth being pumped ashore with the dredging that they are doing because if I remember right we found alot of teeth in that area that they are pumping up when we have been there before.

All in all, Venice is a great place and we always have a nice time when we go.
