OK I got an SAS neoprene drysuit off of ebay. No leaks, works well, etc., but it doesn't have an exhaust valve. So I got an Apex valve at the LDS and am about to install it.
What I've gathered so far is:
a) cut the hole snug around the valve thread
b) spread some aquaseal on the inside & cure overnight
c) spread some aquaseal on the outside & cure overnight
d) apply some silicone sealant to the valve flats and threads
e) screw the valve together
Sounds fairly easy. Is there anything I'm missing or is there a better way, etc.?
Also what is your preferred valve location? I'm planning on the upper left arm slightly towards the rear so it will vent while I'm horizontal. That's just a "hmm, sounds good" idea and may really be addressing a non-issue.
Thanks,
