Ok, last time I asked about Z valves having a potential DIR capability my post was moved here so I have another question.
Might anyone from DIR recommend this K-valve extension on a single tank for easy knob turning? Would this be ruled out as a failure point and why?
Thanks.

Slobwinders? No.

Never let equipment solve a skills issue. It costs more money and in the long run, is far less fun than actually developing the skills in the first place.

There is no excuse, shy of a physical disability, that would prevent you from being able to reach your valves. So therefore, slobwinders are not needed.

LOL slobwinders!
....thats great.
well...sure looks a lot easier for my singl 80,
I'll keep straining my shoulder.
Thanks.

One thing I have found that helps with singles is to reach down with your left hand and grab the bottom of the tank. You can then kinda pull it up and the valve will cock over toward your right hand and be higher than it would be had you not pulled the tank up. It's generally reachable then, but I agree...it ain't easy in a single!

Yes, been going on solo dives (5 feet) and drilling on this one using my left hand at the base while using right but its still tough..I have the reverse kick down but this one is a bugger. Thanks all for quick response, saw the item on ebay.

Hey O-Ring - the "Grab the bottom of the tank and lift it up" technique won't work in a Fundies class. It's not always possible to grab a tank and lift it up in real life - if you were entangled or something.

That being said - singles are a real pain to mess with. And if I were in a situation that I needed to manipulate my valve and I COULD lift the bottom of the tank, you'd be darn sure that I would be!

Eeeeeeeeeeeek! I'll go say 40 "Hail Georges" and drink a few gallons of Kool-Aid. I won't let it happen again..

Lol...look, those slob winders are "counter-intuitive" and only work in "Star Wars bar scene". However, just remember that "the only way to kill a smart person is by breathing the wrong gas mix"....now go play.

Well heres one they don't teach in class anymore. put your hand as close to your valve as you can and then push your elbow with your other hand. It will give your valve hand up to 4 more inches of reach with no pain. It isn't DIR but it works for me.
