A friend was cleaning out her garage and gifted me with her vintage dive gear. Is this stuff worth selling? Back when she was still diving with me in the very early 80's, she used this gear but she stopped diving probably 20 years ago and the stuff hasn't been used since.

There is one of those old orange ScubaPro BCs, a regulator with octopus and pressure/depth gauges, and a pair of Rocket fins, size small.

I'm not sure where to research to see if this stuff has any value, so appreciate some input. My own LDS doesn't handle vintage and isn't a ScubaPro dealer, so I'm not asking them.

Photos attached. Thanks in advance!

Definately worth selling (or using yourself). If the BCD holds air, a collector might be interested; but I would not expect much of it. It has an oldt style tank strap that can not be recycled but I have used the HW to make my own straps. The LPI and hose have non-standard connections so you probably want to remove the hose from the reg and sell it with the BCD. The regulator is a good Mk5 (heavy yoke and 5 LP ports) and a 109 Adjustable 2nd and the SPG is good (5000 psi). I would expect that, minus the LP hose, to bring at least $60 on ebay and would not be surprised to see it get almost $100. If the rubber is good on the fins, they should sell with no problem either.

BTW, I would not call it vintage but it is good old stuff. That 1st and 2nd stage in particular are in demand. They breath every bit as good as any modern regulator.

The regulator is still a good one. You've got a Mk5 with the multiple LP ports and an R109. That's not too much different than a modern Mk25/G250V. You've got a good depth gauge and SPG there too.

Old BC's are pretty much dime a dozen, but I like those old plastic backpacks. Just take the BC off of it, rig up a harness DIR style and dive it. I filled one of mine with lead shot and with an LP72 and a 7mm suit it leaves me well weighted for diving between 15 and 50 feet without a BC.

The fins are probably worth something, but not a whole lot. Rocket fins don't seem to have the same value as Jets.

Thanks y'all! I'm not going to dive this old stuff, I am real happy with my own gear, thinking now of how to sell this stuff, to sell BC and reg together or separate.

The Mk5/109 is nice. If you want to pitch it, I'll give you cost of shipping for it :)

I've seen Rockets go for $25 here and there.

Aqua, make an offer...now that I know what it is, I'll research past sales on eBay. I think I'll list it here on SB first, then eBay if it doesn't move.

That Scubapro MK V regulator is probably a better regulator than what you are using now. Have it serviced and kep it.

I'm still diving the Mk5/R109 my dad gave me in 1978. They're great regs, but usually don't bring much when sold. They're easy to service & parts are still mostly available.
