Has any one ever had their batteries die in their Uwatec "Digital Depth Gauge" or in their OMS "Digital Bottom Timer?" They are both from Uwatec, so I assume the battery is the same. If so how long had you had the timer and how many dives?

Yes. They have to be sent back to Uwatec to get the batteries replaced. Figure on 5-8 years under moderate diving conditions before the battery dies.

I don't really think they were meant to be replaced.
Anyway, sending them in to replace batteries would be mostlikely more expensive than buying a new one. ;)

I don't suppose you know a replacement qoute (battery)?

I don't. In fact, I hear that when you send them back in for battery replacement, they just send you out a new one... but I don't know if that rumour is accurate or not.

AFAIK they're just disposable. When the battery on mine dies I'm going to toss it in the trash and buy another ;)

AFAIK????

"As far as I know"...I struggle to keep up w/ this as well.

I have the same BT, but with the name: Beuchat.
Mine is having a dead battery to. I intend to open it, cut the sillicone open replace the battery and close it again with sillicone.
I never did it befor. Is there anybody who did or knows how it looks inside?
I expect problems with the membrane for the pressure sensor; but I don't know.
If it doesn't work I can throw it in the bin.
