hi all, been researching about UW strobes, then wonder why there are no UW cases on the market for regular flashes, like the Canon speedlite? Does anyone have any experience with that?

They used to be more popular way way back, but wider availability of dedicated UW strobes pretty much killed them. Compared to common UW strobes, land strobes tend to have a much narrower beam, which severely limits their usefulness underwater. Triggering and controls access are also significant issues.

A number of reasons, coverage being one, the other being they are just not as powerful- Guide numbers can be a bit fictional, but give you some idea - the INON Z-240 a workhorse has an ouput of GN 24 going into a 100° roughly circular beam. The Canon 600 RT top line flash has a 60 GN!! but that's only at the 200mm zoom setting. at 20mm - the widest zoom setting it's 26 but the beam is only 84° x 61° (94° diagonal) you need the 14mm diffuser to get to a 104° x 81° (114° diagonal) beam and the GN is only 15, even the little S2000 and YS-D1 easily out do this.

Your other issue is size - items protected by housings tend to get very large to give enough room to add the necessary controls so getting them in close to the port may be an issue - there are one- maybe more companies that made a strobe housing, though I couldn't find too much info on them, I think 10Bar makes one for 430EX - but that would be in even worse position than the 600RT. Others have stopped making them.
