My wife wasn't thinking straight after a recent dive and rinsed the inside of the housing for our S30. This led to fogging of the interior on our last dive - I've since stored it with a desicant in the hopes that it will pull any residual moisture out. Do you think there is any hope of being about to use this case again (ideally without fogging up) or are we SOL?

Thanks!

as long as there are no electronics inside you should be o.k. lube the push rods for the buttons with silicone lube. maybe rinse the inside with alcohol to evaporate moisture first. what kind of housing is it and what type of new wife are you looking at ( blonde, brunette, red head...)?

LOL...it should be fine as it was rinsed in fresh water and there are no electronics to damage.

You need to make sure it's dry dry dry - leave it open in an airconditioned room for a day or so. Then put the camera in with a dessicant pack and close it up & test it - if you've got fog, you've got moisture still. Repeat. You can also use a hairdryer set on low to help dry it out.

I routinely put my open housing in water to clean it. I work the hinge and lock back and forth and press the bottons all in a bucket of fresh water. Then I let the housing sit overnight to dry. Your fogginf problem was due to using the housing before it completely dried
