better yet, try st. croix. only one dive shop here runs the cattle boat, and that's really just on cruise ship days. diving here is far superior, st thomanian dive pros come here to fun dive

Yea, but I heard that divers from STX go to St Thomas to do real wreck diving!

I can't speak to St Croix diving, but St Thomas does have good wreck diving.

Not really, the only reason we go to Stt is to connect to get somewhere else.

;)

thats only because when we are trying to get to St. John or Tortola, we have to stop in St. Thomas first, they don't give us an option :(

luckily we don't have to deal with the cruise ships nearly as much as St Thomas... did you hear about this morning? Pilots all went on strike, stranding the ships at sea until a few hours later...

Also, funny you say that, we have a couple that are instructors in STT doing some dives with us as we speak, in fact I think he said he'd done 18 dives in the past couple days because the diving was great here. Also, the guys from Coki beach come here every so often to dive as well...

I've heard good things about Admiralty, and I dove with St Thomas diving club and had a good experience.

St. Thomas and St. Croix are both excellent dive destinations! St. Croix has a few wrecks, but is best known for their wall, which St. Thomas does not have. Divers from St. Thomas go there to just dive that! St. Thomas has ALOT of wrecks and beautiful reefs. Either way, you can't go wrong!!

I'll second (or third) the recommendation of Admiralty. We've had several people diving with us on St. Croix in the past month that had all also dived with Admiralty and had very good things to say about them.

Here's the difference in St. Croix diving vs St. Thomas, St. John and the BVI. St. Croix is tectonic in nature. We were formed by the shifting of platelets of the earth that kind of shoved St. Croix out of the water and put it on top of a 13,000 foot wall. That's what we're known for. Our neighbors to the north were formed volcanically and thus have the more flat continental shelf type of diving. There are definitely more ship wrecks around St. Thomas.

St. Croix does have five shipwrecks all located within a hundred yards or so of each other. You can easily dive two or three of them in one dive.

It's also possible to dive both St. Croix and St. Thomas during your trip. There's a ferry that takes about an hour and a half between the island but there's also Seaborne Airlines which flies seaplanes. The "flying after diving" doesn't matter much because you can tell the crew (many of whom dive regularly with us) that you've been diving and they'll keep the flight to 1,000 feet or less for you.

Whichever island you choose and whomever you choose to dive with, have a great time!

Does anyone have knowledge of Underwater Adventures in the Virgin Islands?
Thanks,
