I have been using a Canon G9 with the Canon housing offered at the time. The housing is fine but the camera has issues. Would the housing work for the newer G series cameras? The basic body looks similar from what I can tell on line but not sure if the controls would line up the same.
As for the G9, despite cleaning the lens there is always a "cloud" in the same spot on the pics. Maybe its on the sensor, but if anybody has an idea if fixable, will appreciate it. Thanks.

no. while the cameras are the same color, the g9 and g16 are different sizes and have controls located in different positions.

a simple sanity check is to compare images of the back of each camera.

if you like the camera a lot, you ca always look on ebay for a new/used camera and keep using the same setup. Or ...a good time to upgrade! new camera, new housing
