I'm sure others have the exact dates but mid 60's to early 70's would be an aprox range.

The Calypso III was around maybe in the late 60s, but mostly in the early 70s.
The Calypso IV came out in the mid 70s.
I never heard of a Calypso VI.

That would be the best way to confirm the actual years when it was out.
The diagram below is of a Calypso III. The Calypso IV was basically the same, but it had a swivel at the LP end of the barrel with two more LP ports. The later Calypso IV also had a heavier yoke with the larger yoke screw and similar yoke knob used by most Aqua Lung regulators now a days.

Not Luis but no, the 28 is just an end cap, the J model had a built in J valve in place of the cap.
As Herman said, Item 28 is the cap closing the J valve chamber when the reserve was not installed.
In the Calypso IV there is a small spring and adjustment screw inside the swivel turret assembly (the item replacing Item 1). You could adjust the IP by removing the regulator hose at the end of the swivel cap and inserting a heck key (Allen wrench) into the adjustment screw. It would allow you to lower the IP, but more often you actually had to add shims under the main spring to increase the IP.
Not the most convenient regulator to adjust or service, but there are worst.
