URGENT INFO NEEDED - Kosrae/Pohnpei/Marshalls

Hello community,

I have decide to potentially take 8-9 days (not including flight time) off in mid-May to travel to Micronesia. I am interested in doing a reasonable amount of diving there and I need to consider options.

I am leaning towards Kosrae and/or Pohnpei given they are high islands and offer hiking opportunities in addition to diving. However I would like to experience atoll diving.

Option 1) Spend several days on Kosrae for diving and hiking and add in several days on Majuro to potenitally dive Arno. Is this a worthwhile option? Is Arno that spectacular and worth cutting time on Kosrae short?

Option 2) Spend my time exclusively on Pohnpei in the hopes of making it out to Ant or Pakin atolls?

Option 3) Spend my time exclusively on Kosrae, dive hike and relax without the stress of having to feel like I am trying to pack as much in as possible.

Your views on this ASAP would be most appreciated given the last-minute nature and implications for flights. Many thanks!

Ant and Pakin were both pretty amazing in terms of hard coral coverage, small tropical fish, and reef sharks. We also spotted nudi's, but I was just out of OW and didn't know what I was looking at. This was in the summer of 2016.

I was in Pohnpei for work and had access to the atolls but not any of the mainland reef diving that can have some of the bigger fish.

We have been to Kosrae and Majuro, but did not dive Arno. We liked Kosrae a lot, we stayed at Pacific Tree Lodge, basic rooms but Wifi worked and Bully's, their restaurant had great food and the diving was great. Would go back for sure. Majuro, we stayed with friends and did a few dives with them. There was only one dive operator when we were there, Ray Crew. We went to their location at the hotel, they seem to book up a long time in advance. The dives we did were in the lagoon and quite nice but I know there is much better if you go with somebody that knows what they are doing....LMK if you have more questions.
