Excellent question! I'd be very much interested in knowing the answer to this one. Like how we could upgrade Spyders to Stingers?

Suunto/Aqua Lung had a program to upgrade Spyders to Stingers way back then. You sent your Spyder and they replaced it's guts and sent back to you. They may still do it.
Exactly what I was referencing, I had it done on two of them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

There is no upgrade program for the Suunto computers at this time. The Spyder to Stinger upgrade was unique because we were able to replace the “guts”. Unfortunately, the new D9tx does not allow us the same luxury.
If you are an instructor for an authorized Aqua Lung Retailer, you can speak to the store owner or manager about any instructor discount programs that might be available to you.

Similar situation. The Cobra 2 does not have the ability to be upgraded to a Cobra 3.
