SUBIC BAY: The Subic Bay chamber CLOSED in 1999 and it is unlikely ever to be running again.

CORON: the chamber in Coron has a crack in the main perspex body of the chamber and has not be re-certified since installation. There are doctor's available, but none with hyperbaric training.

COAST GUARD RESCUE VESSELS: the four PCG rescue ships all have chambers on board. However, currently only one is operational and none have been officially serviced/maintained since manufacture in 2004, installation in 2006

OPERATIONAL CHAMBERS

MANILA: V LUNA Hospital

BATANGAS: St Patrick's Hospita*l [~May 2011]

CEBU: Camp Lapu-Lapu

*ST PATRICK'S, BATANGAS: Please note that St Patrick's chamber in Batangas is currently [17APR11] off-line for maintenance. It should be up and working again before the end of the month.

Thanks for the information.
Looks like if one needs a chamber and is diving Anialo area or Puerto Galera/Mindoro, one would hope that St Patrick in Batangas city would operational.
Do you know if there are any doctors available with hyperbaric training at St Patricks?

Sure wish we could get one up and operating here in Subic again, theres been talk of repairing the old SRF chamber but realistically speaking its just scrap metal. Wishfull thinking I guess...:argument::argument::argument:

Hi

there are two experienced hyperbraic physicians at St.Patrick's Hospital, Batangas. Dr.Mike Perez [also a diving course director] and his wife [hyperbraic doctor]

The St.Patrick's chamber should be soon back on line after their maintenance

I toured the subic changer just before christmas and the building is falling down with the chamber in complete disrepair. Since most of it is military specs it would be cheaper to install a new chamber. Considerig the number of divers in Subic, chambers for Dumaguette, Bohol and Palawan would probably be of much higher priority

Cheers

Rick

Now the world knows how "ON OUR ASS" we are now.......

Not that bad.. North Luzon, Batangas, Anilao, Puerto Galera and Cebu are all well serviced. We do need chambers for other areas in theVisayas, Palawan and Mindanao. The PCSSD are keen to get new chambers up and running, be they private or public.

I heard that there is a chamber that could be used to treat divers with dcs problems in Cavite. The Philippine Navy had a chamber there.

Gentlemen,
FYI, the Naval Special Operations Group Recompression Chamber Facility of the Philippine Navy is still operational. it is manned by personnel of that unit. However, there is no Diving Medical Officer left as we all went for greener pastures outside of the military service.
The Philippine Coast Guard however, has 3 Diving Medical Officers. All of which has trained in Australia. The most senior of them is CAPTAIN LUZ LIM-ESCARRILLA MC (PCG), cp#639295368416. She is most willing to help out...
