Unique place to stay in Iceland and Ireland?

We are looking for some unique places to stay in Iceland for September and any recommendations. We will be there 2 days. We plan on doing the Golden Circle as well. What is the best way to set that up? What type of vehicle should we get? Then we are going to Ireland from there. Same things, what do you recommend to check out and stay. A castle for example would be cool
