I'm a Fish!
I surf the great lakes and I scuba dive, I suck with a camera though. I borrowed a fancy camera to take this girl on a date, taking black and white pictures, and almost all of them came out blury, and the ones you could see, you didn't want to.

My question is, I am interested in taking pictures of other surfers from underwater. I want to catch some action shots and what not, but I have no idea what I need to start with.

I bought some cheapo disposable underwater cameras at a gas station, I used one before in about 30 feet of water and the pics turned out OK, not great or nothing, but for $13 I was surprised I could see my buddy's face.

Do I need two different types of camera's or film, or flash bulbs for shots I might take on the surface as opposed to when the camera is submerged?

What kind of film should I be using for different amounts of light, like darker water or sun versus clouds???

Is there a way that I can take a picture of someone surfing (moving fast on a wave) while I am dropping from the top of the crest of the wave. Kind of like hitting a moving target when I am standing on a moving train type thing?

Anything else I need to know?

Thanks.

Dark Room Suggestions too, I have everything for a pretty kick butt dark room, my dad use to own an art gallery and a photo studio, but sadly, beyond learning to develop film and pictures, I didn't learn anything else about it, and I forgot how to do that too.

Digital might be the way to go. You can take a ton of pics and just delete the bad ones. It seems you have a little more freedom with a digital with the ability to shoot movie format at the same time you are taking snapshots
