I have been looking to get into underwater videography for over a year now and I have been reading posts and trying to get an idea of the best setup for me. I was hoping people could list their favorite underwater video forum site so that I can get an idea of where to get more information from. I have noticed that several sites have very little activity.

Thanks!

Wetpixel and uwphotochat (Johnathan Bird) are good places to pick up some tips! It is all about money! The Red One in a Gates Housing is the way to go if the budget can afford it? Also Light & Motion has a great line up and is the system I use!

These are sites I've found that have at least some video emphasis. Wetpixel tends to attract more pro's:

Wetpixel :: Underwater Photography Forums -> Video Gear and Technique
UW Video - Scuba Forum - Scuba Diving Forums and Discussion Board
Videography - The Dive Matrix Forums
Welcome to DigitalDiver.net!
Underwater Photo/Video
uwvideo : Discussion of underwater video cameras, housings, lighting, and editing.
Underwater Video Forums :: Underwater Video Forums

The last one seems to have become much more active recently.

You might also consider buying either the Hammerhead Press book or Annie Crawley's DVD. Both are fairly recent publications and while the equipment choices mentioned might be a little dated (in 3-4 years?) the concepts are still valid. There's also the Underwater Video Basics DVD but I've never seen it.

"It looks as if the forum Mike of H2O suggests has very little activity on it. Only a few comments dating back to 2009. Nice looking site though just no traffic."

Not much activity, but still a worthwhile site. Contributors tend to be pro or semi-pro.

Here is a good recent discussion. Very interesting read for uw video shooters.
