Underwater paradise.....I voted mantas
Why you happiest to see ???

I voted for the pygmy seahorse, because I seem to be enchanted with beautiful small things, but a whale shark would be pretty cool, too. I've had the good fortune already of encountering a humpback whale underwater, and that was an amazing thing.

Shoot, I'm thrilled with finding a bunch of tiny, colorful nudibranchs. I'm easily pleased.

There were many fascinating choices but I went for the whaleshark since I've spent significant time in prime whalesharking territory without a sighting. Someday, maybe.

I'm curious, as an aside, has anyone encountered orcas while diving? Maybe a good thread starter...

Still hoping to encounter the legendary Whale(sized) Lobstah!

This would be interesting - in the water.

I almost did !! I was just about to descend with a student for OW dive 2 in Bay of Islands, New Zealand. The local Dolphin cruise boat came past and informed us there were two killer whales 200m away, at which point my student freaked and insisted on getting out the water asap. My mate was lucky enough to have them swim over the top of him, and preceeeded to tell all about it all the way home !!

I think it's KOMPRESSOR who has a fabulous video of diving with Orcas . . . and Uncle Pug has been in the water with them, too.
